Hit $37k in total credit card cashback without tracking a single deal
I started budgeting with a plain 2% card back in 2020 and just crossed $37k in cashback, but I never chased rotating categories or signup bonuses. The kicker is that my spouse's 1.5% flat card on household bills quietly added another $8k, so the real number was hidden across two accounts for 4 years. Anyone else find that sticking to one boring card beats the spreadsheets people brag about in here?

I feel you on the boring card thing. I ran a similar setup with a plain 2% card for everything and never once opened a spreadsheet. My buddy brags about churning bonuses and rotating categories, but he also forgets to activate them half the time. The real kicker for me was when I set up auto pay on a separate cashback card for just utilities and streaming, and that added like $1,200 over three years without me touching it. Sometimes the simple stuff just adds up because you actually stick with it.
