Just realized I was buying generic trash bags for years without checking
So last week I was at Target grabbing my usual 30 pack of those cheap black kitchen bags for like $6. I noticed the box next to it was a store brand but said "2-ply" and cost $8. I thought it was a ripoff until my neighbor saw me struggling with a torn bag leaking coffee grounds into the hallway. She said "why don't you just get the 2-ply ones, they never rip." I laughed it off but tried them anyway. That was 10 days ago and I haven't had a single bag split on me yet. How many times have I been cleaning up trash juice off my kitchen floor for nothing? Anyone else stubbornly stick to the cheap stuff even when a few bucks more saves the headache?

you end up using less bags overall cause they dont rip so the price difference kinda evens out" - I mean maybe @ward.jamie but are we really overthinking trash bags this much? I still just grab whatever's cheapest and deal with the occasional mess. It's like ten seconds to clean up.

oh man the coffee ground situation is the worst, I been there. those cheap ones always fail right when you got wet gross stuff inside too. I switched to the 2 ply ones a while back and its honestly one of those small upgrades that just makes life less annoying. plus you end up using less bags overall cause they dont rip so the price difference kinda evens out.
