Overheard my neighbor bragging about a $12 ladder, then watched him eat grass
He was telling the guy across the street it was a steal at a garage sale. I was watering my tomatoes, and he tried to reach a gutter 3 feet higher than the ladder's actual length. Fell sideways into my hostas. No broken bones, just a bruised ego. I've paid $80 for a proper one and never thought twice. Has anyone else seen budget gear fail in a way that was more funny than dangerous?

Read a story once where a $5 drill caught fire mid-project, at least your neighbor's fall was free entertainment.
