Remember when bulk buying actually saved you real money?

I swear back in 2019 I could grab a 50lb bag of rice at the local Asian market for $18 and now the same bag is pushing $35, has anyone else noticed their bulk bin savings totally evaporating over the last 4 years?

Respectfully, I'm actually seeing the opposite with some stuff. Bought a 25lb bag of pinto beans at Restaurant Depot last month for $12 and that felt like a steal compared to the little bags at Walmart. The key for me has been switching to wholesale clubs and restaurant suppliers instead of regular stores where the bulk aisle got hit with shrinkflation. Not saying rice specifically hasn't gone up but the savings are still there if you know where to look.

Yeah, that "knowing where to look" part is the whole trick. I think a lot of folks just gave up on bulk after the grocery stores messed with it, but places like Restaurant Depot or even some local co-ops still have solid deals if you can buy a whole bag.
