Spent 4 hours trying to get a $15 rice cooker to stop spitting foam on my counter in Akron
Picked up a cheap 3-cup rice cooker at a garage sale in Akron for $15, and the thing kept foaming over and leaving a starchy mess on the counter every time I made jasmine rice. I tried less water, then more water, then rinsing the rice 3 times, and nothing worked. My neighbor Deb came over, looked at the pot for two seconds, and said I was filling it past the max line because I thought the line was a suggestion. Turns out there are two lines inside and I had been ignoring the lower one this whole time. Four hours of scrubbing and googling, and the answer was basically printed right there on the bowl. So my real question is, does anyone else's cheap cooker run hot on the warm setting too, or is that just mine?
