Still kicking myself for ignoring the rust spot on my car door for 3 months
Watched a $80 patch job turn into a $600 replacement quote after I let it sit through two Chicago winters, so has anyone else had a small fix balloon into a nightmare like that?

Same thing with a crack in my windshield" - oh man, that's brutal. I had a little chip in my windshield one time and figured I'd get to it "next weekend." Three months later I hit a pothole and the thing spiderwebbed across the whole driver's side. It was like watching my money get shredded in slow motion. I even tried one of those DIY repair kits from the auto parts store and ended up making it worse somehow - think I pushed the crack further rather than filling it. Now I'm that guy who checks every rock chip like a hawk and probably looks crazy staring at my windshield for ten minutes after every highway trip.

Maybe I should just get a chip in my windshield so I have an excuse to not drive anymore" - dude, you're turning into a windshield inspector on the highway, that's next level paranoia. I swear those DIY kits are a scam, they probably just make the crack look worse and give you a false sense of victory before it explodes. At this rate, you'll be that guy with a tape measure checking every pebble on the road before you merge.

Ugh dude I feel your pain. Did the same thing with a crack in my windshield and now I need a whole new one after the heat spread it all the way across.
