Unpopular opinion: paying $9 for a plain tote bag at a farmer's market is not a budget move
Last Saturday I watched a woman at the market in Portland hand over $9 for a plain canvas tote, then turn around and haggle a farmer down to $2 on a bunch of carrots. It felt backwards, like she was spending real money on the idea of being frugal instead of the actual food. Am I the only one who thinks the tote bag is where the real budget leak usually hides?
