Vent: My $9 rice cooker trick finally stopped me from buying lunch at work
I was burning $11 a day on takeout near my office in Portland because I never meal prepped on weeknights. Two weeks ago I started cooking a big batch of rice and beans in my cheap $9 rice cooker on Sunday, then portioning it into 5 containers with frozen veggies on top. The whole thing takes maybe 20 minutes of actual work and costs me about $1.40 per lunch. I've saved roughly $95 so far and I'm not even bored of it yet because I switch up the sauce. What's your go to cheap bulk meal that doesn't taste like sad leftovers by day 3?
