Warning: My neighbor's yard sale strategy backfired in a big way

I saw a guy in my town, Springfield, trying to sell a used lawn mower for $200 at his garage sale. He told everyone it was 'like new' but it wouldn't start when he tried to show it off. The look on his face when three people just walked away was pretty funny. What's the weirdest thing you've seen someone try to sell for too much money?

Remember that old tube TV with the built-in VCR? My buddy's uncle tried to sell one for like eighty bucks at his sale. It weighed a ton and the tape slot was jammed shut with a crayon. He kept calling it a "classic piece" while we just stood there sweating, trying to lift it.

Eighty bucks for a boat anchor with a crayon stuck in it? What was his backup plan when it didn't sell, just keep it in the garage forever as a "classic"? Did he have a whole room of this stuff, like VHS rewinders and giant satellite dishes he called investments?

My cousin's garage sale had a stack of those giant AOL free trial CDs he was selling as "coasters for the digital age." (He did not sell any.)
