Why does nobody talk about unit price on paper towels
Everyone in this community keeps chasing coupons and store brand swaps, but the real money is sitting right on the shelf tag and most people walk past it. I started tracking the price per square foot on paper towels at my local Kroger in Akron about 4 months ago, and the jumbo packs that look like a deal are often 30 cents more per 100 feet than the plain 2 roll pack. It matters because I was spending $22 a month on the big packs and now I spend around $11 for the same amount of wiping. The store prints it in tiny type under the price, so you just have to look, and it takes about 5 seconds per shelf. I get why the big packs feel safer, but the math doesn't back it up most trips. Anyone else check that tiny number, or am I the only one crouching in aisle 12 with my phone out?
