I finally stopped buying those little spice jars at the store
For a while I thought they were convenient, but my friend showed me her receipt from the bulk spice section at our local co-op. She got a whole cup of cumin for less than two dollars, while the tiny jar costs four. I've been overpaying for years just for the container. Now I refill my old jars from the bulk bins and save a ton. Has anyone else switched to buying spices this way?

But isn't the real win finding a co-op with a good bulk section in the first place?

I used to think the jars were worth it for the ease, but seeing the price difference in bulk changed my mind completely.

Yeah I saw a whole breakdown online about the jar markup. They said you're basically paying for the single serve packaging and brand name. The actual food inside costs way less, especially if you buy the big bags and portion it out yourself.
