My neighbor's $4 lentil soup recipe made me question everything I knew about cheap eats

She said it feeds her family of 5 for two days and I laughed until I tried it, now I'm embarrassed about all the money I blew on ground beef last winter. Has anyone else had a cheap dish totally flip how they plan their weekly grocery list?

Ever had one of those moments where you realize your grocery budget has been lying to you this whole time? I feel that lentil soup shame deep in my bones, my chili recipe has cost me a small fortune this winter and I'm honestly a little mad about it.
