My wife said my $1.50 bean pot was bland mush, so now I split the batch in two and season each half
I was cooking a pound of dried pinto beans every Sunday and dumping in the same spices, and she finally just told me it tasted like nothing after four weeks of it. Now I cook the beans plain, split them into two pots, and do one with cumin and chili powder and one with garlic and bay, which is maybe 40 cents more per batch. Is it worth doing two pots, or is there a smarter way to get some variety out of one cheap batch?
