Rant: My neighbor said canned beans are cheating and it changed my mind

She told me dried beans only cost $1.20 a pound and take 2 hours to cook, but after 4 tries I still ended up with crunchy disaster beans, so I'm sticking with canned and just rinsing them to cut the salt, has anyone else just given up on dried?

Four tries though? Are you soaking them overnight first or nah?

Started soaking mine in hot water with a pinch of salt, total game changer.

Four tries is exactly where I was at. Soaked them overnight, still got hard little pebbles. I finally just accepted I'm a canned beans person and moved on with my life.
