TIL batch cooking on Sundays saved me $40 a week on groceries
Honestly, I used to think meal prepping was for influencers and people with way too much time. But after 3 months of doing it every Sunday, I'm pulling together dinners for under $50 a week in my little kitchen in Portland. What changed is I stopped buying those pre-chopped veggie packs and started dicing my own onions and peppers. Has anyone else notice their grocery bill drop after committing to a Sunday prep routine?

Oh come on, you're not really saving $40, you're just paying yourself in labor instead. All that time chopping and cleaning on a Sunday has a cost too. Plus those pre-chopped veggies actually help me not waste food since I use them before they go bad. What's your hourly rate for dicing onions anyway?

Wait, $40 a week? That's insane. Like, you're basically getting a free dinner every week with that kind of savings. I'd be bragging about that to everyone I know.

Right? I'm with you all the way on this. I started prepping my lunches for the week a couple months back and I'm saving about $35 a week easy just on not buying sad sandwiches from the corner shop. It's like getting a free movie ticket and popcorn every week for just a little chopping (which I do while watching TV anyway, so no big deal).
