Update: that $12 jar of "gourmet" pasta sauce was the worst money I've spent all month
I grabbed it at the grocery store on my lunch break last Tuesday thinking it would save me time on dinner, but it tasted like nothing and I still had to add garlic and herbs to make it edible. For $12 I could've made three batches of my own sauce from a 99 cent can of tomatoes and had leftovers, so now the jar sits in my fridge as a reminder. Has anyone found a store brand sauce that's actually decent, or should I just batch cook my own and freeze it?
A $12 jar of sauce is a bummer but it's not exactly a crisis. Plenty of people blow way more than that on stuff that disappoints them, and yours at least taught you the homemade batch is cheaper. Just cook your own and freeze it, that's the move.
