Vent: My aunt swore by powdered milk for everything and I finally tried it

She said to use it for cooking, not drinking, to cut costs. Bought a box for like $4. Made a big pot of potato soup with it instead of fresh milk. The texture was totally off, kind of grainy. Honestly ruined the whole batch. Does anyone have a better budget swap for dairy in soups?

Try evaporated milk instead, way smoother.
