A warning about those 'cheap' airport hotels you find online...
I used to book the cheapest airport hotel I could find for early flights, thinking it saved money. Last month in Chicago, I got one for $89 that was a 45 minute shuttle ride away at 4am... and the shuttle never showed. A taxi cost me $65, making the real price $154. Now I only book places with free 24 hour shuttles or just take public transit the night before. Has anyone found a good way to check if those hotel shuttles are actually reliable?

Man that's brutal. Do you check the hotel's recent reviews and search for "shuttle" before booking?

That's a solid tip for sure. But what if the hotel just stopped the shuttle service last week? Reviews might not catch that fast enough. Makes you wonder if calling ahead is the only real fix.

Ugh, honestly I just call them. Reviews are helpful but a two minute phone call gives you a real answer right now.
