Hostel worker in Lisbon told me to stop tipping the walking tour guides, saved me $60
I always dropped 10 euros at the end of those free walking tours in Europe, then a guy at my hostel said the guides there get paid by the company and the tip thing is mostly a tourist habit. I tested it in Porto and Porto and nobody batted an eye. Is this a country by country thing or was he just cheap?
