I always booked flights on Tuesdays thinking it was cheapest, but a bartender in Denver set me straight

I was in Denver last spring and chatting with a bartender who used to work for Southwest. He told me the whole Tuesday thing is outdated and that airlines now drop deals on Sundays around 8 PM. I tested it on my next trip to Chicago and saved $60 on a round trip ticket! Has anyone else found a specific day or time that actually works better for flight deals?

That whole "bartender in Denver" line cracked me up because I usually get my airline advice from the internet, not from someone pouring beers. So now I'm wondering if I should just start asking bartenders for financial advice too since they seem to know more than the travel blogs I read. I tried the Sunday night trick a few weeks ago myself and actually snagged a decent deal to Phoenix, though I can't say for sure if it was the day or just dumb luck. I guess my fear is that if everyone starts doing this, airlines will just change the game again and I'll be back to refreshing the page at random hours like a fool.
