Just noticed the free city bikes in Lisbon are way easier to get than I thought
Honestly, I was in Lisbon last month and kept seeing those Gira bikes everywhere but figured you needed a local card. Tbh, you just need the app and a €15 deposit, which you get back. Rode from Baixa to Belem along the river for basically nothing. Has anyone else found a good city with a simple bike system like that?

That ride from Baixa to Belem sounds perfect. It made me remember getting lost in Ghent using their bike share. The system was just as simple, but I spent an hour circling because every canal looked the same. Still, a great way to see a city.

It's funny how we assume city systems are complicated. I had the same mental block with the metro card in Berlin, but it was just tap and go. We make these things harder in our heads.
