Just realized my flight search habits were costing me hundreds
For years I'd just check one site and book, but last month I started using a free tool that tracks prices across multiple airlines and dates. I saved $275 on a trip to Lisbon by shifting my dates by two days. Anyone else have a go-to tool for this, or is it just more hassle than it's worth?

Honestly felt the same way after saving $300 on a trip.

I mean, I get the point about it feeling like free money, but calling it a hassle is kind of the wrong way to look at it. It's more like setting a timer and forgetting about it, you know? The tool does the annoying part, so you're not actually doing extra work. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather feel a little dumb for past mistakes than keep overpaying now.

Consider it a hassle in the same way that picking up free money off the sidewalk is a hassle. I used to book the first flight I saw like a sucker, too. Now I let a website do the boring work of checking other days while I do something better with my time. The only real downside is the mild shame you feel for all those years you were basically donating extra cash to the airlines.
