Pro tip: Stop booking the cheapest flight you see right away
I keep seeing friends get excited about a $150 flight, then pay $75 for a checked bag and $40 for a seat assignment. The real total is $265, when a $200 fare on a better airline includes both. Has anyone else found a good way to compare the real, final price?

My last trip to Denver looked like a steal at first, a $129 basic fare. By the time I paid for my carry-on and picked a seat, it was over $220. I always add at least $100 to the sticker price now to compare.

Ever seen that trick to sort by total price?

Oscar's trick is a must for booking flights now. The base fare is basically a lie with all the extra fees they tack on.
