Could just be old stock they need to move, not some big scam.

Are you seeing them mark up the original price before putting the discount sticker on it? That's a dirty trick some stores pull to make the deal look better than it is. I always check the weight and price per pound against the regular packages. Sometimes the "special" is actually more expensive per ounce. Makes you wonder if it's a mistake or done on purpose. Gotta watch them like a hawk.
