Honestly, my old phone bill was a total shock when I finally looked at it

Tbh, I was just going through some old bank statements from 2018 last week, cleaning out a drawer. I found a bill from my old cell provider and my jaw dropped. I was paying $112 a month for a single line with 2GB of data. I found the exact same plan online now, and it's $35. I guess I just never questioned it back then, I thought that was just what it cost. I switched to a cheaper carrier like three years ago, but seeing that number on paper really hit me. It made me realize how much I was just throwing away without even thinking. Has anyone else found an old bill that made them cringe?

I get what you mean about the shock, but honestly, I don't really cringe at my old bills. That $112 was the going rate back then for what you got. Tech and plans just get cheaper over time, it's normal. I'd feel worse about an old gym membership I never used than a phone plan I actually needed.

Yeah, I had that exact moment a few years back! I started setting a calendar reminder to check my bills every six months, just a quick look to see if my plan still makes sense. It's crazy how easy it is to get stuck on autopay and forget about it. Saved myself a bunch on internet and streaming services too by doing that.

That "stuck on autopay" thing is so real, it's like they count on us forgetting. I felt that hard when I finally looked at my old phone bill. Setting a reminder is such a simple fix, but why does it feel like such a chore to actually do it? Makes you wonder what else we're all just paying for without a second thought.
