I used to think meal kits were a total waste of money

I was spending about $80 a week on a popular meal kit service, thinking it saved me time and cut food waste. After tracking my spending for a month, I saw I was still throwing out extra veggies and sauces from the kits. I switched to planning five meals on Sunday and buying just those ingredients at my local market. Now I spend around $45 and actually use everything I buy. What's your best trick for cutting the grocery bill without feeling like you're missing out?

Man I was the same way, swore by those kits for years. Seeing your numbers though, that's a huge difference. I might have to try your Sunday plan.

Yeah the math really hits you when you see it written down. I used to spend like $130 a week on those kits for two people. Switched to just planning meals and hitting the store on Sundays, now it's more like $80. That hour of planning saves me a ton of cash, and honestly I find it less stressful than waiting for a delivery. Gavin has a point about time being worth something, but for me the extra money in my pocket feels better.

Honestly people get way too intense about grocery math lol. It's just food, not a tax audit. If the kits save you an hour of stress who cares about an extra twenty bucks.
