Just saved $80 a month by switching my car insurance

I got my renewal notice from my old company, and the price went up again. I spent an hour on a site called The Zebra getting quotes. The new policy has the same coverage but costs $80 less each month. Has anyone else found a better deal by shopping around lately?

Did you check if the new company has a good record for paying claims? Saving money is great, but I've heard some budget insurers can be a real headache if you ever actually need them.

Ever think about how they handle claims during a big storm or something? Like @ericprice said, saving money is cool until you're stuck waiting months for a check when your roof is leaking.

Yeah, the "budget insurer headache" thing. I had a fender bender last year with one of those cheaper companies everyone warns about. They sent an adjuster out in two days, direct deposited the money by the end of the week. It was honestly smoother than my old "big name" company was a few years back. Price doesn't always mean better service.
