My kitchen faucet handle snapped off on Saturday morning.
The replacement cartridge at the hardware store was $28, but I found a video online showing how to fix it with a $3 nylon washer from the plumbing aisle. Has anyone else had luck with a cheap fix like this instead of buying the whole part?

Doesn't it feel like half of modern life is just finding the one cheap part that actually broke?

Ugh, I get that feeling. But honestly, the worst part is paying a ton for the whole unit when you know it's just a tiny piece of plastic inside. Makes you want to learn how to fix everything yourself.

Totally agree about wanting to fix things yourself. Found a broken clip on my car's sun visor and just superglued it back on. Saved myself a hundred bucks for a whole new part.
