My wife and I tried the cash envelope system for 3 months versus our old app tracking

We put $400 a month in a grocery envelope and $150 for eating out. Seeing the cash go down made us skip takeout twice last week. The app just showed numbers, but the real money made us stop and think. Has anyone else found cash works better for certain spending?

Makes total sense. I use cash for my fun money, like books or coffee. Watching a twenty turn into a fistful of ones feels way different than a tap on a screen. It forces a little pause the apps just don't.
