My wife talked me into buying a $40 meal planner app and I finally stopped throwing out $200 of rotten groceries every month

For 6 months straight she kept saying it would save us money and I called it a scam until I added up what I wasted on produce alone last year and saw $2,400 down the drain, so what small tool actually surprised you by paying for itself?

Honestly I think $40 is still steep for a meal planner app when there are free ones like Mealime that work just as well lol. I started using that one and it saves me about $50-60 a month just by actually sticking to a list. But yeah you're right that any tool that stops you from throwing away cash on rotting food pays for itself real quick.

Has the free version actually been cutting it for you long term or did you cave for the paid features eventually?
