Rant: I picked a credit card balance transfer over a 0% loan and the $75 fee saved me $400 in interest
I had $2,300 on a card at 22% and a 0% APR offer for 15 months that charged a 3% fee up front, but my credit union offered a personal loan at 7% with no fee. I took the card deal because I could pay it off in 10 months, and the math worked out to $69 in fees versus $134 in loan interest, so what am I missing about the trap here?
