Went to a fancy grocery store downtown and felt completely ripped off

I stopped into Whole Foods on 5th Ave yesterday just to grab a few things for the week. A single bell pepper was $2.50 and a small bag of almonds was almost $9. I ended up walking out with nothing and drove 10 minutes to Aldi instead. Got the same stuff for under $15 total. Anyone else find those high-end stores are just not worth it for basic groceries?

Listen man, a bell pepper is $2.50 at almost any bodega in the city too. That's just what they cost now. You drove ten minutes to save maybe six bucks on a few items. Factor in gas and your time and you're standing in Aldi for basically the same net cost.

Respectfully @mark_mitchell you're missing the point. It's not just about the price difference it's about feeling like a sucker for paying double. Aldi's quality is just as good for a fraction of the markup.
