PSA: Spent $260 on a mason jar vacuum sealer kit for my pantry
Saw it on a late night infomercial at 2am last Tuesday. Thought it would make my dry goods last forever. Whole system uses these little valve lids and a hose attachment. Worked great on the first jar of rice. Then the second jar of pasta. Third jar of beans sealed fine but the lid cracked when I tried to open it. The fourth jar wouldn't seal at all. Checked the manual, turns out I need special wide-mouth jars they sell separately for $18 each. I could have bought 260 pounds of rice for what I spent on these lids. Anyone else fall for the niche kitchen gadget trap?

Special wide-mouth jars they sell separately for $18 each" is the part that got me... classic infomercial bait and switch. You basically paid $260 to learn that rice doesn't need to be vacuum sealed in the first place. My $3 mason jars have been holding flour just fine for years, zero cracked lids involved.
