Showerthought: my tool cart became a time capsule after 3 years of neglect
Last week I finally cleaned out my tool cart at the jobsite after letting it sit for 3 years. I found a half-eaten granola bar from 2022, three dried out caulking tubes, and a tape measure that stopped working around then. The weird part was finding a scribe I swore I lost back in March of that year. I spent about an hour just digging through the dust and junk, pulling out stuff I forgot I even owned. Has anyone else found something stupidly old buried in their work gear?

honestly I used to think it was just laziness or whatever leaving stuff sit that long but nah your post honestly changed my mind on that. like you said its basically a time capsule, you find old stuff you forgot about and get a little trip down memory lane. i had an old backpack in my truck for like 2 years and found a receipt from a gas station that was dated way back, it was kind of wild to remember what i was doing that day. so yeah maybe letting stuff sit isnt always bad, sometimes its just waiting to remind you of something.

i mean you're right about the time capsule thing, but that receipt probably wasn't from a gas station since most gas stations don't print itemized receipts for just gas. maybe it was from a convenience store inside the gas station though, those are different. idk just a small thing but it makes me wonder what you actually bought there.
