Digital vs paper weekly spreads, I switched back after 8 months
I used a tablet app for my weekly layouts since January, mostly for the search feature and easy edits. But after 8 months of fighting battery life and app updates, I went back to my A5 notebook from the shop in Austin. The funny thing is I finish my whole week in about 10 minutes now, versus 20 fiddling with the app. Has anyone else bounced between digital and paper and found the old way just sticks better?
Paper always wins for me at the end of the day, though my reason sounds kinda random. I kept a digital planner for like six months and it worked fine, but then I realized I was spending more time choosing fonts and color coding than actually writing stuff down. My notebook is just a plain grid one and everything is black ink, even the headers. The whole 10 minutes versus 20 thing is real, my brain just gets the week sorted faster when I can scribble and cross things out. Plus my notebook doesn't die at 3pm during a work meeting, that alone sold me. I even tried going back to the tablet last month and it lasted three days before I grabbed my pen again.
