Dropped $85 on a fancy dotted notebook at the Paper Source in Chicago and my cheap $6 one worked better
Honestly I thought the thicker paper and lay flat binding would fix my smudging problem but the pages bleed through with my Pilot G2 just as bad as the cheap one. The dotted grid is also way tighter than I expected so all my habit trackers look cramped and messy. Tbh I should have just tested one pen on the last page before buying, rookie move. Has anyone found a notebook under $15 that actually handles gel pens without ghosting?
My buddy Dave bought the same $85 notebook at that Paper Source on State Street last year. He was so sure it would fix his bleed problem with his G2s. Three pages in and the ink was showing through so bad he couldn't use the back side at all. He ended up ripping out the pages and going back to a $4 five star from Target. The thing that got him was the paper weight, it said 100gsm on the label but it felt thinner than printer paper. Now he tests every pen he owns on the last page before he buys anything.
