That "stronger memory path" thing is overrated. My phone list is always with me and I can set reminders so things actually get done. A notebook left on a counter doesn't help you remember at the hardware store.

Read an article that said handwriting tasks engages your brain differently than typing. Something about the physical act helps it stick. For a simple repair list, that tactile feel of crossing things off with a pen just seals the deal.

Yeah, it makes the info more real in your head. That physical step of writing forms a stronger memory path than just hitting keys. A digital list just doesn't feel the same as seeing your own writing with a line through it.
