Honestly my bullet journal habit tracker didn't click until month 5

I started bullet journaling in January and my habit tracker was just a mess of half-filled boxes by February. Tbh I thought I was just bad at tracking stuff. Then around June I realized the problem was I had too many habits listed like 12 different things. I cut it down to just 3 habits per month and suddenly I actually filled in the boxes every day. The before was a chaotic grid of guilt and the after is a simple block of 3 rows that I actually stick with. Has anyone else found that less habits actually makes you do them more?

Oh man the 12 habits thing hit hard because I did the exact same thing. I had like 10 boxes and by day 3 I was already skipping half of them because it felt like homework. What finally worked for me was keeping just 2 things: drink water first thing and do a 5 minute tidy up. That's it. Now I actually look forward to checking them off instead of dreading a giant block of empty squares.

That's the sweet spot right there... it's gotta be easy or it just doesn't stick.

Cut mine from 8 to 4 and actually started keeping up with them.
