I used to think decorating was a waste of time, now I see the method behind it
I was skeptical about spending time on layouts and stickers in my bullet journal for months. But after 3 tries with just plain lists I kept losing track of tasks, decorating the key areas actually made me use it every day. Anyone else flip from bare bones to more visual and actually stick with it?

Ngl my first attempt at a decorated journal looked like a kindergartener sneezed on the page. But after sticking with it for a week I actually started remembering my appointments instead of just hoping for the best.

Oh man, @felix_hayes64 your description made me snort. I had a friend who was super anti-decorating journals for years. She once told me she'd rather shove a cactus up her nose than bother with washi tape. But then she was late to every meeting for three months straight because she forgot she wrote things down in her plain notebook. Eventually she caved and bought a pack of colorful sticky notes. Now she has a color code for everything and if you move a single sticky note she acts like you committed a felony. She's late less often now, so I guess the tape won.
