Just realized I was numbering my monthly logs wrong for three years
I finally noticed last night when I flipped back through an old journal and saw my October 2022 spread had 32 days listed, which tipped me off that I've been blindly copying dates from the wrong month template this whole time, anyone else catch obvious mistakes way later than they should?

Flip through your past journals and count the days. Might just be me but that kind of mistake feels like finding a hidden time warp. Definitely been there with different stuff though, feels weirdly satisfying to finally notice.

Read a blog post once about how our brains just fill in patterns when we're copying stuff. Like @williamm82 said, feels like time travel when you finally spot it.

Similar mistake happened to me with my workout logs a couple years back. I had been accidentally using the wrong rep scheme for an entire training block because I copied the template from the wrong month and just never double checked it. What finally clicked for me was when I noticed my progress on paper didn't match what I was actually doing in the gym. I started fresh with a clean notebook and wrote out each day one at a time instead of copying a master template, then used a calendar app notification for the first week just to force myself to verify dates before writing anything. Took like an extra 30 seconds per entry but totally stopped the whole misnumbering thing cold.
