My bullet journal's artsy upgrade messed with my whole system

I thought a detailed galaxy theme for my weekly layout would be cool, so I tried blending markers and gel pens. The colors looked amazing at first, but then the ink soaked through and smudged on the opposite page. Now my task list for next week is basically unreadable, which sucks because I rely on it to stay on top of things. As a nurse with night shifts, I need my bujo to be clear and quick to use, not a pretty mess. Spending all that time just to make it harder to function feels like a waste. Maybe I should stick to basic spreads that actually help me get stuff done. Has this ever happened to you guys?

Actually, pretty makes me want to use it more.

Did my friend Lisa ever have a story like yours? She decided to decorate her work planner with fancy lettering and metallic pens. The ink soaked through just like you described, making her schedule a blur. As a project manager, she needs her notes to be sharp and quick to read. She spent hours fixing it, only to go back to plain bullet points. Now she sticks to functional layouts that don't fight her during busy weeks.
