My entire monthly spread got wrecked by a leaky pen

I was setting up my April pages last Friday with a new fountain pen I got. I left the notebook open on the kitchen table for maybe ten minutes, and my cat jumped up and knocked over a glass of water right onto it. The ink ran everywhere, smearing my calendar and task list into a blue mess. I had to carefully blot it and then redraw the whole thing on the next page, which took over an hour. Has anyone found a truly waterproof ink that still writes nice in a bullet journal?

I used to think waterproof inks were too fussy, but a spilled coffee changed my mind.

Interesting point, @reese124. I've always found the trade-off isn't worth it for my own notes. Most waterproof inks I've tried dry too slowly on the paper I use, and they can be a real pain to clean out of a pen if it sits for a week. I'd rather just be careful with my coffee cup.

What kind of paper are you using that makes the drying time so bad? I've had some inks that just sit there forever on certain notebooks. Also, when you say they're a pain to clean, is it because they gunk up the feed or just stain the converter?
