Please stop using gel pens in your bullet journal if you want it to last

I see so many posts on here showing off beautiful spreads done with gel pens, but nobody mentions that those inks smear even months later. I learned this the hard way after my June monthly got ruined by a drop of water from my coffee mug. If you are archiving anything important, stick with ballpoint or a good fineliner from a brand like Sakura. Has anyone else had a journal get wrecked by smearing?

Switching to a Uni-ball Signo micro-point fineliner saved my last journal after a gel pen disaster. Have you tried letting pages dry for a full day before closing the book?
