PSA: that fancy ink swatch page might be hiding a leaky pen issue
I was flipping through my journal from March and noticed my monthly spread had this weird blue smear near the spine, turns out one of my fineliners had been slowly seeping into the paper for weeks without me catching it. The whole habit tracker for week 12 is basically unreadable now because the ink bled through three pages, and I only realized it when I went to move that pen to my desk cup. Has anyone else had a favorite pen just start leaking randomly, and how did you spot it before it ruined a whole layout?

The smear thing is real, I once found a purple stain on my desk that matched a pen I hadn't used in months. Turns out it was leaking into the drawer and I just thought it was old coffee. Now I shake every pen before I trust it near a planner.

Wait, THREE pages?? Your fineliner leaked through an entire week of habit tracking and you only caught it when moving the pen? That's wild. I had a similar thing happen with a cheap gel pen that suddenly turned into a little ink fountain in my pencil case, but it only ruined a single page. I only noticed because my hand came away blue after touching the paper. How did you not see the smear earlier? Was it like a slow drip that dried clear or something? I'd be so mad about that whole spread, especially if it was one of those nice washi-taped layouts.
