Stuck on a 15 minute daily habit for 6 months, then a cashier at the grocery store just said something that clicked
I was standing in line at the Kroger on Elm Street last Tuesday, and the cashier noticed my bullet journal peeking out of my bag and asked if it was a 'brain dump book'. Instead of just saying yes, she told me she uses a single dot to mark days she even opens her journal, no pressure to write more. Has anyone else had a total stranger give them a simpler way to think about their system?

Does it ever feel like the BEST advice always comes from someone who doesn't even know they're giving it? I think that's because strangers don't carry any of our baggage about what a habit "should" look like, so they just point out what already works for them. It's a good reminder that most of the complicated rules we make up are just noise getting in the way of actually doing the thing.

Yeah but have you ever gotten life-changing advice from a drunk guy at a bar who was mostly just trying to get you to buy him another beer?
