Vent: A gal at the coffee shop in Denver saw my weekly spread and asked if I was "wasting paper on purpose"
I was sitting at a table near the window at a spot on South Broadway about 3 weeks ago, laying out my weekly spread for February, and this woman at the next table just leaned over and said it. She asked why I do a full weekly layout when I could "just use an app like a normal person." I told her the pen-to-paper thing helps me actually remember my tasks, and she goes, "but you redraw the same boxes every single week, isn't that a waste?" I tried to explain that the setup is kind of the point for me, it slows me down and makes me think about what actually matters that week. But then I sat there and honestly wondered if she had a point, like am I just doing busy work that a digital list would handle in 5 seconds? So here's my debate for you all: is the weekly redraw a real part of the practice, or are we all just attached to the ritual and calling it productivity? Do you feel like the hand-drawn setup actually changes how you plan, or would a plain list do the same job? Curious where everyone lands on this.
