Am I the only one who started using the left lane math trick on I-35 and cut 20 min off my Austin commute?
I started counting cars ahead in each lane at every overpass instead of just following the fastest looking one, and it picked the quicker lane 8 out of 10 times last week. Anyone else got a dumb little highway game that actually works or am I just fooling myself?
Thought this was total nonsense when my buddy told me about it last year. I was like dude just pick a lane and go, you're overthinking it. Then I got stuck behind a wall of cars on 35 near 290 for like 40 minutes one day and figured whatever, I'll try counting. Now I do the overpass thing too and I swear it works more often than not. Maybe it's just because it makes me actually pay attention instead of zoning out to a podcast, but either way I'm not going back. My wife still thinks I'm nuts when I do it but she also beat me home by 15 minutes last week so who's laughing.
