Hot take: Roundabouts aren't the traffic saviors everyone claims

Last Tuesday on my way to work near the 5 and Main intersection, I sat through three roundabouts in a row that were absolute gridlock. Everyone talks about how they keep traffic moving, but I watched a minivan circle four times because nobody knew how to yield properly. My commute jumped from 20 minutes to 45 that day, all because of those supposed "efficiency circles." Has anyone else seen these things just turn into chaos when too many cars hit at once?
