I finally figured out why my commute got 20 minutes longer this month

Turns out they closed one lane on the bridge over the river and put up a temporary light that only lets 10 cars through at a time. Has anyone else dealt with construction suddenly wrecking their usual route without warning?

Wait, isn't that temporary light actually making it safer for everyone merging?

Oh for crying out loud, Sandra! Sure, let's pretend that makeshift light is some genius safety solution. Yeah, it's real safe when everyone's slamming on their brakes because they didn't get any warning about a sudden traffic light in the middle of their usual 50 mph commute. It's like the universe decided to play a prank on us. Safer merging? More like safer praying you don't get rear-ended by the guy who's still checking his coffee order. Mike must have felt like he was in some twisted game show. Guess we should all just be grateful for the surprise obstacle course, right?

My buddy Mike had the SAME thing happen on his way to work. They just threw up some cones and a temporary light on his main road one morning with zero warning. Took him almost an extra hour the first day because he didn't know.
