Old timer at the gas station told me to stop riding my clutch and it changed everything

I was filling up at a Shell in Brighton about 2 years ago and this guy in his 70s overheard me complaining about my manual transmission feeling rough. He said I was keeping my foot on the clutch pedal at stoplights and wearing out the throwout bearing. I had no idea that was a thing after 15 years of driving stick. Now I always pop it into neutral and rest my foot on the floor. My clutch feels way smoother and I saved like $800 not having to replace it early. Anyone else get a random tip like that from a stranger?

Honestly, tried using microfiber cloths with just water and it cleared up the fog way better than any spray I wasted money on. Ngl, cheap solution that actually sticks.
